About Dima Antadze

Dimitri Antadze is a Georgian artist born in 1963. He graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1988. In the 1990s, during a difficult time in Georgia, Antadze found himself in Japan. This proved to be a fortunate coincidence for his career as it led to him having nine solo exhibitions in the country. In Japan, Antadze’s work took on a new life as he broadened his professional experience.

The main theme in Antadze’s artistic world is the fairy tale. According to the artist, fairy tales are miraculous because of their origin, comprehensiveness, and most importantly, because they give a person freedom of perception. For Antadze, painting is a parallel world to real life where he uses space, color, and line to discover or express himself. It gives him an unusual feeling that allows him to escape into a world of his own creation.

Antadze’s work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs across the world. His unique style and use of the fairy tale as a theme have made him a notable figure in the art world. His paintings are a reflection of his inner world and offer a glimpse into the magic that exists beyond our everyday lives
