Ia Gigoshvili received a Grant artist of the USSR Union of Artists in 1988. She completed her formal education at the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Art in the Republic of Georgia, graduating in 1981. During her time at the academy, she also studied at the Graphic Studio of Sergo Kobuladze from 1980 to 1983, refining her skills and expanding her artistic repertoire.
Gigoshvili has showcased her works in numerous personal exhibitions, starting with the Artists House in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1984. Her artistic journey took her to international venues, including the Grillo Theater in Essen, Germany, the Dagstuhl Palace in Saarland, Germany, the European Academy in Otzenhausen, Germany, and the Saar Gallery in Saarbruecken, Germany, all in 1993. She also exhibited her works at the City Hall in Harburg, Germany, in 1991.
