About the Artist

In the heart of the artistically diverse city of Tbilisi, Georgia, Mamuka Didebashvili, also known as Mamuka Dideba, was born in 1968 and initiated his creative pursuit at the renowned Nikoladze Art School. He further honed his talents at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, cultivating a unique and mesmerizing artistic style.Didebashvili has showcased his work in art fairs throughout Georgia and internationally for over two decades. His later mature portraits, in particular, demonstrate his remarkable ability to fuse these two styles harmoniously. Didebashvili’s body of work is distinguished by its complex technique, satirical and symbolic depictions of human figures, and an understated, humorous critique of old masters’ works, conveyed through playful poses or actions. His multifaceted oil painting approach is reminiscent of Northern Renaissance luminaries, like Jan Van Eyck, and manifests in the striking realism of his paintings. Nevertheless, Didebashvili’s vivid imagination and distinctive color palette yield unrivaled works of art, whether in abstract paintings that express motion and lights through diaphanous colors or in portraits that challenge the boundaries of reality. Didebashvili’s art has adorned the halls of art fairs across the globe, from the UK and Ireland to the USA, Europe, and Russia. His paintings serve as a testament to his skill and unwavering dedication to his craft.
