Regarding the Book

Nicoloz Tbileli’s book “Colors of Tfilisi”  focuses on colored photographs of Tbilisi’s historical districts, streets, prominent public figures, and historical photo facts. The colored photos used in the book were created by restoring and colorization of black and white photographic material using artificial intelligence. With an innovative approach and the use of new technologies, it was possible to revive the black-and-white photo archive depicting our cultural heritage in color format.

Work on the project included many interesting stages, which in a way became a challenge for our team. It was a big responsibility to find photographs depicting our city and historical facts from various archives of the world, and then to process this material with artificial intelligence in such a way that the authenticity, character, charm, and joy of the city of Tfilisi a hundred years ago were conveyed to us in full.
