Art Gallery Line is pleased to announce the continuation of the project “Rooted in Culture,” in partnership with the Georgia Nation Harmony Foundation. This initiative has been a testament to the vibrant and enduring cultural heritage of Georgia, encapsulated through a captivating collection of visual arts. Initiated in May 2023 at the Art Gallery Line in Tbilisi with generous support from the US Embassy, this project has grown into a symbol of cross-cultural dialogue and artistic excellence.
The journey commenced with a grand opening in Tbilisi, featuring works by esteemed Georgian artists aged 55 to 90, rooted in tradition yet contemporarily relevant. Supported by the Georgian Embassy in the USA, the collection debuted at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., enhancing cultural ties with the United States. The exhibition gained further acclaim at the Hamptons Art Fair in July 2023, captivating art enthusiasts, and was notably presented at the United Nations in New York City on November 9, 2023, highlighting art’s universal ability to connect diverse communities.

Continuing its impact, “Rooted in Culture” is showcased at the Davis Center at Harvard University from September 21, 2024, to June 2025. Recognized globally for academic excellence and rich cultural heritage, Harvard provides an ideal venue for this collection, promising to captivate new audiences and foster intellectual and cultural exchanges. As part of the project’s activities at Davis Center at the Harvard University, Dr. Sergo Tbileli delivered an insightful lecture, enhancing the exhibition’s cultural and intellectual engagement. Recognized globally for academic excellence and rich cultural heritage,
“Rooted in Culture” transcends being an art exhibition, focusing on fostering cultural exchange, spreading harmony, and promoting peace. Drawing parallels with Picasso’s “Guernica,” it seeks to spread democratic values through art and culture. By highlighting the artistic achievements and cultural depth of Georgian artists, the exhibition builds bridges of understanding across cultures.
The Art Cross Foundation, led by Ketevan Paitchadze and co-founded with Mikheil Tbileli, has been instrumental in driving this initiative forward, extending the reach of Georgian visual art globally. As we anticipate the future, “Rooted in Culture” promises to enrich the global art narrative with the perspectives and heritage of Georgian artists.
